About Me

With a unique combination of on- and off-stage experience, I bring hands-on artistic expertise and industry knowledge to my work, which covers all aspects of content marketing and external affairs. Including, but not limited to:

  • Digital marketing

  • Photography

  • Video editing

  • Public relations

  • Crisis management

  • Advancement / development / fundraising

  • Internal communications

  • External communications

  • Media relations

  • And more!

As a Juilliard & New School-trained (MM, BM, AD) classical musician and life-long entrepreneur, I have worked in-house at The Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center. Agency-side, I have supported over 150 artists and cultural institutions across all areas of content development, communications, and marketing, both as a independent contractor and while working at two of the world’s leading Communications and Marketing firms as an Account Director and Digital Marketing Manager.

With extensive expertise in Digital Marketing, I help organizations and individuals express themselves creatively in digital spaces, cultivating and implementing Marketing, Communications, and social media campaigns. My experience in photography also earned me the position of “House Photographer” at The Ned Nomad / Soho House.

At the Metropolitan Opera, under my supervision their organic social media following grew by over 25% in less than a year. My roles at Carnegie Hall and the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center supported the Communications, Artistic, Development, and Marketing teams – giving me a holistic understanding of the inner workings of performing arts operations. While working within agencies, I grew my company’s email marketing open rates by 90% and my clients’ social media followings by as much as 302%. As a freelancer (prior to starting Catherine Hancock Digital LLC), my independent roster of clients has included major performing arts organizations, manuscript collections, individual artists, podcasts, and startups.
