Content Marketing

Under the Met Opera’s chandeliers at their annual cleaning for a piece I produced during my tenure managing their organic social media.

While there is still a place for traditional PR, Communications, and Marketing, it is undeniably becoming less relevant and effective. With the rise of social media, content developers have become an essential part of brand strategy and successful sales tactics. Unlike most External Affairs professionals, I got my start in content creation before joining in-house and agency teams. Understanding that providing audiences with content that is valuable and offers distinct solutions to existing problems is key to brand success – and that traditional pitching no longer can guarantee results – I was able to bring my creative skills to my positions and quickly advance professionally. Along the way I gained a holistic understanding of every piece of the Comms / Marketing puzzle, executing traditional campaigns and supporting them with content marketing:

Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.

I have produced, written, project managed, and published thousands of pieces of content for clients and institutions; scroll below or visit my portfolio to see a sampling of my favorite examples of how Content Marketing can be effectively used in social media, web development, email marketing, and more.
